We were a little reluctant to move to Las Vegas. All we had seen when visiting was the strip. Since moving, we have had our amazing friends show us parts of Vegas I never even knew existed. The Turning Point is hands down the BEST seminar I’ve ever been to. In fact, it’s so motivating that I’ve now been to three of them. Every time it’s different too b/c you’ll go once, learn some things that you want to change in your life, and then you’ll go home and apply what you’ve learned. The next time around, you’ll learn the same information, and yet, you’ll hear something different…something you didn’t apply the first time you left the seminar. You’ll take your new information, go home, and apply some more positive changes into your life. Then, as you go more and more, you’ll repeat the cycle.

This weekend was just incredible for me though, and for a few different reasons. First off, it marks the one year anniversary for B and my FIRST Turning Point seminar. As we reflect on how much we’ve changed our life for the better this year, we look onto just how much better it is going to become again in 2009.

Second, Ang was there. That’s right, my first alliance member, the girl I wrote about in my last journal entry. She’s the one that decided to stop making excuses and TAKE ACTION, and got on a plane on short notice to change her life.

What an amazing weekend for her and her boyfriend, Mike. It’s awesome just how much The Turning Point does for people. Besides the fact that Mike quit smoking that weekend (Side note on Dec. 26^th: And has proposed to Ang), Ang had an experience of a lifetime that taught her to never let anything hold her back.

You see, six year ago, Ang’s mom passed away in a tragic fire...The Rhode Island Night Club Fire. Ever since her passing, Ang has let her mom’s death really hold her back. Even the site of a flame on a birthday candle would trigger awful feelings inside her.

At The Turning Point, Ang learned a valuable lesson. One of the biggest parts of the seminar is all the attendees eat fire. That’s right, YOU will eat fire there! (To see a video of my friends and myself eating fire, click here.)

This was extremely scary for Ang. After all, she did let even the site of fire remind her of her mother’s death…and she refused to eat the fire. She let the fear hold her back.

Later that night Brandon and Mike went to talk about Mike’s experience, and Ang and I decided to have some girl time to reflect on why she didn’t eat the fire. We brainstormed a little, and Ang revealed that she felt that she would just be disrespecting her mother by eating the fire…after all, that’s how she died! I felt differently about the situation though, and explained my outlook on the firing eating. I told Ang that she has let her mom’s death (and fire) hold her back from doing so many things. This was a chance for her to change that. All day she had learned about taking action and not letting things hold her back, and that’s exactly what she was doing by not eating the fire.

I ate fire!!!

Then I told her that I didn’t see her eating fire as disrespectful. I saw it as victorious!!! An action in HONOR of her mom! I said to her “You can eat the fire and say, ‘You may have taken my mom, and yet you WON’T take me!’” That night triggered something different in her head.

The next morning, she went back into the seminar and asked Marshall what his opinion was. He had a very similar opinion to mine. That was the point when Ang knew what she had to do. At lunch that day, she took action and, in honor of her mom, ate fire!!! It was a real emotional moment for Ang, and I was so proud to witness her overcoming her fear.

**Side note: December 15^th**

Ang and I are in constant contact and is doing awesome! She has many people noticing all the positive changes in her and Mike since attending The Turning Point, and she reports that she is not letting anything hold her back anymore! Anytime she may feel a little fear, she thinks of how she honored her mom when she ate fire. When she sees fire, she doesn’t freak out anymore. She reminds herself of all the good times she had with her mom. And she is taking new actions every day towards getting the life that she really wants. I’m so proud and excited for her…and I know when she continues to apply everything she learned in Atlanta, she will continue to achieve many more successes for herself.

On another positive note, Mike is still not smoking. He will celebrate his one month anniversary on Christmas Eve!

Brandon and I just spent a week with Marshall Sylver and his fiance’ Erica at their beach house in Southern California. We were invited to go out there at the Summit, and of course, we accepted. The plan was to help Marshall with his first webinar for the launch of his new company, The Prosperity Alliance. 

What an inspiring place! Waking up and looking out into their backyard of endless waves from the Pacific Ocean has really inspired me to want to take even bigger actions than the ones I’m already taking.

It’s really cool to be around Marshall. He’s just like the man you see when you are at one of his seminars: confident, smart, funny, and certainly a product of the product. What he’s helped me realize though is he is a normal guy…with extraordinary talents. And he created the success he has. By him being a product of the product, he proves that anyone can do it too. Now, I’ve been constantly working on being a product of the product as well, and I see tenfold how his techniques…when applied…really do work to help people take action and change their life. I’m more positive from the week we’ve spent here in Southern California that Prosperity Alliance is going to be HUGE!!!

With that said, Brandon and I decided not to wait to start building our alliance. We are in pre-launch right now, and yet we figure, IF NOT NOW, WHEN?!?!

And that phrase “If not now, when?” is a really great motivator to live by. In fact, it’s one of the main reasons my girlfriend joined my alliance last night. The story is incredible:

So, one of my girlfriends, Ang, has been keeping in touch with me for quite some time now. She seemed very interested in the things Brandon and I have been doing and wanted to know how she could do it too. I told her to go watch this fantastic training for FREE on our website www.sylveralliance.com.

For some reason, it was like pulling teeth, and she was always coming up with some excuse on why she was too busy to sit down and watch it. Finally I just told her straight out “Listen, you told me you wanted to know how we’ve been able to change our life so much this year, and what you can do to do the same…you really do want to know, don’t you?”

Of course she said “Yes” and so I said, “Then watch the video. And don’t call me until you do,” and hung up.

Three days went by and I got a text from her: “Sitting down with Mike to watch the video. Got some popcorn and Mike is rubbing my feet. I’ll text you when it’s over.”

Excitement ran through me…here we are, driving from California to Atlanta for the last stop on our road trip before we head home, and I am able to build my alliance from anywhere! More exciting was the fact that Ang was finally going to be able to take her own actions like I did…and I knew she was just going to love the video when she watched it!

Well, Ang didn’t wait until the video was over to text me back. She was loving the information so much she was texting me every 5-10 minutes on how awesome it was and how she wished she had watched it sooner!

When she was done watching Take Action Now, she called me up! (It was about 11:30 pm at the time) “I want in!” she said.

Well, coincidentally there was a Turning Point she could attend right away…the only challenge: she’d have to get on a plane the next morning to get to the event for the weekend. At first, she thought it seemed impossible. I mean, she’d have to cover her shifts, her boyfriend would have to call out of work, they’d have to buy plane tickets, do something with their dog, get to the airport, leave on short notice, get a hotel room, and PRAY they didn’t get fired from their jobs.

What really came to play here is the fact that many people let things like their job, or a pet, or things being short notice become their excuses…and they continue to do the same things they’ve been doing…that JUST DON’T WORK!!! The important thing to remember is IF NOT NOW, WHEN?!?!  When will you change the things you are currently doing that don’t work and take action and start doing the things that will really make a difference for your life?

Well, let me tell you…Ang didn’t let all of the objections stop her! I helped her sign up for Prosperity Alliance, book her flight, told her to room with us at the hotel, and helped her figure out what to do with her dog. She called her job and told them that she had to go do something extremely important for her life and that she had to call out. Her boyfriend did the same.  At 1 am, as we were pulling into our hotel in Atlanta for the Turning Point that very weekend, I was saying goodnight to Ang…excited that I was going to see her the very next day!!!

Sure enough, the next day, her shifts were covered, her sister volunteered to take care of her dog for the weekend, and they were on a flight on their way to Atlanta. All this time, I was so focused on helping Ang…and I finally realized…I had my first member of my alliance! WOOHOO! The best part was that Ang’s weekend in Atlanta really was life changing for her. More about that in the next entry though.

The lesson for this journal is that Prosperity Alliance rocks! You can build your business anywhere, any time. And the product is something positive that everyone can use. Jen took action, and I’m so proud of her. Together, we are going to help change even more people’s lives! It’s amazing!!!

B and I are at Marshall Sylver’s (and his fiancé Erica’s) 17,000 sf Palace in Las Vegas!  What an experience!  It is gorgeous here!  We are living a life in luxury as he shares his home, his lifestyle, and how I can live that life too!  It is totally awesome!  We are travelling by limo everywhere, have our own personal chef, are dining at the finest restaurants in Las Vegas, and brainstorming with our Mastermind Group on how we are all going to create the successes in our lives that we deserve!!!

What is a mastermind group you may ask?  Well, it’s a group of people that form an alliance and support and work together using each person’s talents to best help each member of the group obtain prosperity, happiness, success…you name it!  I am fortunate enough to have an amazing group of people in this alliance.  (I am in a few mastermind groups…each group brings different things to my successes.)  We are from all over the US, and within our mastermind we have smaller groups…pairs…that we call MAP.  (My Accountability Partner)  So even though we work as one larger group creating ideas and suggestions so that each person can excel to the next level in their life, we also have our MAP for more specific planning.

When you are ready to form an alliance that will be your ultimate mastermind group to everything you want in life, let B and I know!  We are ready for you!!!

**Note on December 11^th:  An example of a MAP’s duties: one of the things I told my MAP is that I want to make sure to read 20 minutes of personal development books per day.  (Or a total of 140 minutes per week.)  So she checks in with me (she lives in California) to make sure that I am doing what I said I would put forth to do.  It’s great because I don’t want to tell her I didn’t do what I said I would do, so I definitely make sure to get my reading in every day!  (Or at least the equivalent of the 140 minutes per week.)

Currently I’m reading Napoleon Hill’s book Think and Grow Rich.  A MUST read for anyone who wants nothing but the best in their life!!!  There is a lot of incredible information in this book.  He does talk a lot about the importance of a mastermind group and your involvement in one.  He says “The ‘Master Mind’ may be defined as: ‘coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose.’  No individual may have great power without availing him or herself of the Master Mind.”
